I Want To Be Unique: Developing Artistic Style

First of all, I freely admit that what I say isn't gospel. I am a total amateur at art and writing. I've learned everything that I know via the internet and a few drawing books. It's just that I appreciate all of the tutorials here on dA that have helped me out, and I want to put a little bit of my own methods back in.

In my experience, style will either be one of the easiest or one of the hardest things for you to develop as an artist. I've been there, there is no worse feeling than the crushing realization that your art looks an awful lot like everyone else's. Duct Tape Flower Pen Tutorialby =AzzurraAnthrax

Resources & Stock Images / Tutorials / Application Reference / Other

1. You will need: a roll of duct tape, a pen

2. Tear a strip of duct tape the length of the pen and wrap it around so that the plastic isn't showing.

3. Tear a short strip of duct tape and place it on the end.

4. Fold the edges over and wrap the tape around the end of the pen.

5. Tear off a square strip of duct tape.

6. Fold two of the adjacent corners in (as you would fold paper if you were making a cootie catcher).

7. Make about 50 of those.

8. Wrap the sticky side around the pen, point facing up.

9. Repeat the last step with the rest of the "petals", layering them on top of each other.

10. Yay! You made a pwetty pen :3
